The best camera is the one you have with you. Yes I love my fancy DSLR but I would rather capture the moment with something instead of nothing. Using the iPhone X in RAW mode through the LR mobile app yielded this tack sharp image of the magnificent rocks in the Dolomites. Yes, I still had to use some post edit to reduce the noise in the sky and add some touches here and there. But then, that is part of the fun.

Sometimes you have to look at the view on the other side. While most people focus on the southern view from Rialto Bridge, looking north on the less crowded side yielded this long exposure of the beautiful canal-front properties. I took several shots, almost all with light streaks of the passing boats, but was patient to capture this one without any.

Handheld night photography – Hotel Shangri-La in Santa Monica in blue hour. While we were enjoying some great food at Elephante, the skies suddenly turned ominous, the wonderful warm summer nights that we have been enjoying for the last several weeks giving way to a breezy and cold fall night (although technically it is still summer). And then light peeked through couple holes in the clouds with the sunset glow still visible on the horizon. Not having a tripod, I set up the camera to manual, f/4.0, 1/40 sec, ISO 6400 and took 8 quick shots in succession to later merge into a stack mean in Photoshop. The resulting photo is remarkably sharp and low noise, capturing the exact mood. Hope you like it.
